Explore the work

ChronitonDB is an independent Chroniton Labs product. It is not a project of the Apache Software Foundation and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Apache Software Foundation.

The lineage

Built from Apache Cassandra.

ChronitonDB starts with the Apache Cassandra codebase. It keeps Cassandra’s architecture, protocol, tooling, and operational model as its foundation, then adds functional updates, fixes, performance work, and expanded test coverage.

The current work grows from the RustyRazorblade branches developed by community engineers including Jon Haddad and Patrick McFadin. Chroniton Labs provides the release cadence and testing needed to put that work in users’ hands sooner.

ChronitonDB is not a destination where Cassandra improvements stop. Our intent is to contribute every change back to Apache Cassandra, working through its public review process while giving operators a way to test and benefit from the work sooner.
